10 Things to do During February Vacation Week with the Kiddos

February vacation week is here! We’ve rounded up 10 fun family-friendly activities to keep everyone entertained.

1. Disney On Ice presents Magic in the Stars

Featuring the most Disney characters in one show including the on-ice debuts of Frozen 2 and Raya and the Last Dragon. The all-star cast includes 56 of your favorite Disney stars, including Mirabel, Woody and Buzz, Tiana, Moana, and more! February 21-25, 2024 at TD Garden

2. MIT Museum Feb Fest

MIT’s annual National Engineers Week celebration. They host 6 days of fun hands-on engineering activities and workshops. For more information: http://mitmuseum.mit.edu/febfest

3. Bugs Bunny Film Festival

The Brattle Theatre in Cambridge is hosting its 28th annual Bugs Bunny Film Festival for the entire week, and you can watch a dozen or so Looney Tunes cartoons in 80 minutes. See Bugs Bunny, Daffy Duck, Elmer Fudd, Porky Pig, and Foghorn Leghorn in 35 mm film. Get tickets here.

4. Museum of African American History

Celebrate Black History Month by making a stop at the Museum of African American History, downtown at the site of the Abiel Smith School, the oldest public school in America built for African American children. The current exhibition, The Emancipation Proclamation: A Pragmatic Compromise, examines one of America’s most famous documents. When you’re finished at the museum, consider walking the Black Heritage Trail, which visits Boston’s most historic African American sites.

6. Institute of Contemporary Art

Visit the ICA during school vacation week for hands-on, art-making in the Bank of America Art Lab and check out our newest installation, Destiny Doorways, in collaboration with artist Mithsuca Berry!

7. Bubble Tea and Board Games

Order your favorite bubble tea at Tea-Do (8 Tyler Street) in Chinatown, grab a table and pick out a board game from the shelf near the back to enjoy while you sip your tea

8. Ice Skating at Frog Pond

FYI: Admission price is based on the skater’s height.

9. New England Aquarium

Spend a day at the New England Aquarium touching the Atlantic rays, petting a starfish, and getting up close to a lobster at the tide pool touch tank.  Gaze at the circling sharks, meet Myrtle the Green Sea Turtle, and laugh at the antics of over 60 penguins as they frolic next to the Giant Ocean Tank.
